Hydration Packs for Little Riders: Keeping Little Bodies Hydrated on Hot Rides

Hydration Packs for Little Riders: Keeping Little Bodies Hydrated on Hot Rides

Here at Prevelo, we unanimously agree that Hydration Packs are the ideal way for kids to carry water on their bike. They hold an ample amount of water, offer hands free drinking, and have enough space for toy dinosaurs.  We're virtually certain that we are going to get responses to this from passionate parents that are confident that water bottles are the superior hydration carrier.  There's room for disagreement on this - but we've chosen our side.

Hydration Packs vs. Water Bottles

Hydration Pack Water Bottle
👍 Securely attached to rider's back 😬 Can be dropped, getting dirty and requiring water bottle search and rescue mission
👍 Hydration hose can be quickly popped into mouth.  Rider can maintain a bite on the hose, and sip with both hands on the bar. 😬 Requires rider to ride with one hand...or stop.
👍 Holds 1500ml of water 😬 Holds 550ml of water
👍 Room for toy dinosaurs and cool rocks. 😬 No accommodations for toy dinosaurs and cool rocks

So, what's our favorite hydration pack?

We love the Osprey Moki. This thing is specifically sized for young riders and still offers 1.5L of water capacity, an airmesh harness for comfort, two pockets to hold stuff(like toy dinosaurs), a spot to attach a taillight, and two color choices!
