This is the first pedal bike we bought our daughter. She's 3.5 and graduated from her Alpha Zero balance bike. I chose the bike as I am just so impressed with the work Prevelo has been doing to design and build bikes with kids in mind. This bike is an absolute thing of beauty - hydraulic disc brakes, internal cable routing, quality cranks, properly sized handlebar and grips, etc. I went with the Zulu Two given the quality build and the beefier tires as I'm hoping over the next 2-3 years that the bike fits (here's hoping) that I will get her on some flat dirt trails. This bike will also be passed on to her little brother who is bound to start even earlier given he'll have someone to look up to and chase around. In addition, having a bike where you're given a short and tall seat post was also a wonderful selling point knowing I could try and maximize the time our kids can ride this bike. Given our daughter never had tricycle or training wheels we had to work on the physical pedalling. However, after only 3 weeks (and only 2-3 days each week) spent working on pedaling and stabilizing her, last week I was able to give her a push and off she went on her own. I think she was a little shocked but my wife and I were over the moon! By day 3, she was starting out all on her own and using the brakes as well!! (Shameless plug for the Alpha Zero - it also has a hand brake which is why we bought that bike and she learnt how to use that hand brake making the transition simple) Given this is our first child and the first time we've seen one of our kids pedal a bike these moments have been absolutely priceless. I'm a big believer in having equipment making things easier - and the kids-specific bikes Prevelo are putting out there accomplish exactly that. They're quality and they're designed to make it easy for kids to just pedal and ride - they're not overly heavy, they aren't difficult to handle and they're made of quality components.
